Walking in the streets and alleys of Victoria, I feel that there are too many flowers here. My friend said that this is the world famous garden city. After he said that, I pay more attention to the flowers and grass on the side of the road.
Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, is located in the south end of Vancouver Island in southwest Canada. It is the largest city and seaport on Vancouver Island. It has a temperate marine climate with an average annual rainfall of 686 mm. The city is beautiful, quiet, colorful, green all the year round, and the streets are green into gardens, let alone the front and back of residents' houses.
Victoria is named after the queen of England. There are many English style castles, churches and buildings in the city, which are full of the flavor of European royalty. It is the oldest city on the West Bank of Canada.
Victoria was founded in 1843 for Hudson Bay Company (once the earliest commercial joint-stock company in North America and the largest land owner in the world), and developed rapidly after the Fraser gold rush in 1858. The city was built in 1862, and the provincial capital was moved here six years later. As the trading bridgehead of this old British company, in Victoria, double decker buses, carriages, city gardens and teahouses are everywhere, full of strong British wind.
As a garden city worthy of its name, Victoria's most famous garden is Bucharest garden. Buchat garden is divided into four parts: Sunken Garden (also called Xinjing garden), Italian garden, Japanese garden and rose garden. In addition, there are baocui garden, Bigen Mountain Park, lighthouse park, Signal Mountain Park, Thunderbird Park, beacon Mountain Park, etc.
Victoria is not only a beautiful garden city, but also full of the classical beauty of the middle ages. The city center is Victoria port. The main scenic spots are provincial council building, Queen's Hotel, zero point of No.1 highway, Chinatown, etc.
Facing the port, the British Columbia parliament building is a Victorian building designed by British Francis nathanbury. In the distance, not only the building is magnificent, but also the ancient green trees and flowers in the square are particularly striking.
When I arrived, it had just rained, and the fragrance of flowers and grass was everywhere. Looking from afar, the green leaves rolling with water are shining in the sun. The eye-catching flowers are like the girls just bathing. They are graceful, shy and affectionate. Occasionally, a breeze blows, and the big tree looks like a steamed bread seems to wave to welcome us, adding a bit of comfort and comfort.
The idiom "beautiful and delicious" is used to describe the beauty of women. In fact, there is another meaning, that is, to describe the beautiful natural scenery. Victoria's restaurants and street restaurants (street tables) are different. They are really beautiful, because they are accompanied by blooming flowers. Can you eat in such an environment without a big appetite?
Flowers should be planted according to local conditions. There are flowers on every street lamp post in the city. This is Victoria's characteristic. There are flowers on the poles as many street lights as there are on the streets of the city. The flowers are similar year by year, and the streets are beautiful year by year. Local people say that flowers are the beauty of their hometown. They can see the flow of the world and travel all over the world. They are still haunted by their hometown.
There are not only street trees, green belts, but also flower walls along Victoria Road. There is basically no exposed corner here. There are blooming flowers in every corner suitable for flower growth. No matter whether someone appreciates them or not, the flowers are quietly blooming.
In fact, Victoria's roadside flowers are managed by someone. The best viewing season is April October, especially in summer, with the most flowers and blooming.
Many merchants are facing the street. Although there is no garden, they decorate it with flowerpots in front of the door. On the fisherman's Wharf, there is no half inch of land for people on the water. The boat house is a home all year round, but the owner always cleverly places or hangs several pots of flowers on the windowsill or high place where the water can't reach to decorate the boat house. The boat house becomes a floating landscape.
A tourist city, always inadvertently will leave many beautiful things for people to comment on. And Victoria's beauty, once met, will not forget.
